I’d trade you a damaged bumper for having a black rig. Thing is a pin stripe magnet on the trail!

Yep, just cant worry about it I guess!

Second year in a row we spent a week in the Kootenay Lake area. Pole position crossing on the ferry last year (next to an admittedly very nice Corvette), brought up the rear this year. Spectacular views either way.

@Dogandagladiator I realized after it was too late. Plan is to scrap it and get a heated blanked from walmart since that’s waaay better. Can’t forget to crack a widow tho

Rode out a stormy AF evening recently while chipping away at some sections of the Utah BDR. Actually had to close the top and sleep “downstairs” after the wind started to push in out top. Eventful night, truck felt like a boat on aired-down tires. Side note, thunder rolling through canyons is one of the most amazing sounds, slightly concerning too!

Do you mean the wind was threatening to close the hard top on the struts?

Peace.

Well, while I think camping in severe storms can be risky, sometimes it can’t be avoided. They can happen without warning. I copied these strut braces from another forum member. They work well in baja winds which are generally uni-directional. I generally plan to park nose into the wind. For a storm where winds are more irratic, I haven’t fully tested them. I have weathered some moderate storms with these and they were solid.

Peace.

Just saw this post about Portland area GFC owners. We were out of town unfortunately for the recent event in Scappoose, but please hit me up if there are any developments on getting a group together here.
