Track nut alternative

Which size track nut would come with the awning brackets? Or cross bars? Definitely going to pick some up

Not sure what come with GFC’s crossbars but their awning brackets come with 1/4-20.
Greg’s racks and awning brackets will come with 1/4-20 as well.
Check out the link above. Should have more in stock next week I believe. He sold a lot more than either of us expected.

@2ayne Is he developing something like the beef rack? Maybe even a cab rack?

We haven’t talked about a “over the cab rack” yet but it’s for sure been on my mind.

We’ve discussed cross bars similar to the beef racks, awning brackets, a cab side molle panel, pull down strap which is in production, the fly rods and track nuts obviously and possibly a nice solution to hold the wiring for on roof solar panels.

I’m in for the solar wiring holder.

Beef Rack set up is an easy DIY. Might be easier to just order the parts and sell as a kit tbh. All the parts are readily available from tnutz/8020 etc. https://www.tnutz.com/product/jp-010-j-black/ and https://www.tnutz.com/product/ex-1010-c/ or can use a 15 series for extra capacity. You can easily build a full double bar kit for less than $50.

Not the best looking thing out there though in my opinion. That’s why I haven’t done it yet. Looks tacky to me and that cross bar is a little on the flimsy side.

Just picked up some these last friday! Excited to get it so I can mount some goodies.

I can agree there lol. But as for the flimsy-ness. I have a bunch of 15 series for a platform build and it doesn’t even flex with me jumping on it (I’m about 160). It would take way more weight and jumps to even get it to the point of flexing. Could be an affordable solution to just make side brackets that are more elegant. Either or, looks like you both have attractive design taste, I regress.

Also I might add, the racks aren’t going to be at the Beef Rack price point, lol.

Im going to wait to see what he comes up with before i go with el cheapo extruded aluminum route mentioned before. Yall keep up the good work, his pricing seems pretty fair, quality seems high, and he is active in the community. All good signs.

Looking at all his products I didn’t think so  . GFC has definitely been milking the “how much will people pay for accessories” rather than what is reasonable.

Will you be selling these into Canada, as well?

You’ll have to send a email, Instagram or Facebook message over to Greg. I’m pretty sure he’ll ship to Canada though.

Which nuts are the most useful, the 10-32 or the 1/4-20? Is there any reason not to order the 1/4-20 since they appear to be stronger. Does the slight protruding of the 1/4-20 from the track affect its functionality?

Yes it effects it. You won’t be able to tighten flat things to the flat extrusion.

Thanks. I’ll contact him.

Are these the right size for anywhere on / inside the GFC? 10% the price of the GZila ones… https://www.tnutz.com/product/qt-040/

The GFC extrusions are not off the shelf. So GZila or GFC tnuts will only work. Or you could make your own?

Upon looking at your link, don’t think they would work anyways

What is the website? To get these?
