@WVTRDPro, super helpful to see in advance what I’ll be working with, thank you! What sequence would you recommend I install? First the nfab bumper skid, then the rest I assume?

@cs808 I actually installed the NFab bumper while the TRD skid was already on. Only thing I did was remove the skid from the bumper in order to each the bolts that hold the bumper on. I found it very difficult to get at the back of the skid plate once the bumper was on. I remedied that by installing threaded clips on all the tabs that the bumper skid bolts to so I don’t have to hold a nut on the backside. My plan is to go back and install nut-serts/riv-nuts now that I have the tool to do so. I’ve seen others make the same comments about removing/reinstalling the bumper skid once the bumper is on the truck. Just something to consider.

Great information, thanks again @WVTRDPro

Hey @WVTRDPro I’m finally working on my drawers. Did you use standard 2x10 or did you have to cut down a 2x12to go over wheelwell? Thanks

@LBS_TRDadventures I just used a standard 2x10 but I also have a bed rug in place on the floor of bed that probably adds about an inch possibly.

Couple updates to the build.

I wanted to switch up the look of the NFab MRDS front bumper. I got the inspiration from Proyotatype on Instagram to add the middle section and push bar. I also added two light tabs that I’ll put some Baja XL lights on at some point.

I’ve also been wanting to upgrade the water system in the camper. I got an Ironman4x4 10 gallon upright tank. I changed out the fittings and also used a 12V pump from Amazon. I wired it to a 12V outlet so I could plug it into my GoalZero. It fits nicely behind the Duluth seat back bunker and utilizes some empty space. It also puts all the weight more towards center of the truck.

@WVTRDPro could you link to the amazon 12v pump? Pretty neat setup!

Water pressure is a little on the low side so not sure if I’ll bump up to a higher GPM pump or not. I’ll test it out on a couple camping trips and see.

Added some Baja XL Sports to the bumper to finish it off.

Another weekend spent wondering the hills of WV. I keep finding more and more great, dispersed campsites and it keeps me searching for more.

Installed the Expedition Essentials dash mount. It’s definitely super solid. Install is kind of a pain since it’s a really tight work space to get some of the nuts threaded on, but I only lost one in the dash so I call that a win.

shhhh, dont mention the locations of these spots in WV. Particularly the one in the top photo. Was just there a couple weeks ago. I’m out of Southeast WV. Camper 198.

Peace

@JSTY

Would you happen to be the Tacoma that I’ve seen down in the Lewisburg area? Only other GFC I’ve seen with WV plates. I saw Mountain State Overland post a picture from up at that spot the day after we were up there, funny coincidence.

Yep, that is me! Yeah, I was with Jason (MSO) on that trip. Good friend of mine. So you guys must have been there right before we were. Nice. Yeah, that is an epic spot up there. If you are ever down in L’burg hit us up and we will get together.

@JSTY
That’s awesome, I met Jason at the Adventure Fest last year. I’ll definitely keep in touch if I’m planning another weekend camping, would love to meet up with some fellow West Virginians since I haven’t encountered too many local overland enthusiasts. It’s usually just me and my buddy and all we ever see out are RV’s or out-of-staters.

Sounds good! You in Morgantown? Maybe we can share some dispersed campsite beta between Lewisburg and Morgantown if we meet up at some point.

Cheers.

@JSTY
No, I’m in the Charleston area. That’s sounds great. I’ve been logging all the places I’ve found for future use, especially with all the people that were out last summer it’s good to know of a few lesser known spots you can retreat to to get away from everyone.

Bumped up the battery/electrical system in the camper. I used to run the Yeti 400 which worked great, no complaints, but I keep finding myself adding more and more items in the camper that require dedicated power so I thought I would upgrade the battery to the Yeti 1000. We have a few extended trips planned this summer so this should work well for us.
