Tundra GFC Build

These photos were from a little further south, up on the Mower Basin area.

Sometimes the simplest mods can be the most utilized and rewarding. Made some mounting points on my swing out to hold my FrontRunner kitchen set. This frees up some tailgate space while cooking and makes everything easy to access while prepping. Just drilled some holes and used some threaded inserts to screw in some hooks.

@WVTRDPro that’s badass! Meanwhile while I camp I use the same spatula and pan to cook, eat and clean with haha.

@GFCnortheast
The real benefit of this set is avoiding doing dishes as long as possible since there’s so many in the set lol.

No mods to report this time, just using it

Great looking truck! I am in the process of building out a white 1794 I just acquired in January. I am curious as to what type of finish you applied to your bumper (Bed liner, powder coat, etc.)?

@WrinkledPants thanks! I just ended up using some Rustoleum truck bed coating on the bumper. While it doesn’t have the strongest bond to the bumper, at least I can easily patch any places that chip off. I originally planned to use Steel-It coating since I really like the look and it’s the strongest spray on coating I’ve found but went the cheap route for now.

Thanks for sharing the info. I just received my front bumper and sliders from C4 fab. I will use the same product. I figure if I’m going to be touching up no matter which product I choose I might as well use the least expensive product (which might also be the easiest one to touch up as well).

By the way… I am also running the stealth Ray 10’s in dark bronze

@WrinkledPants Nice! I think that dark bronze on the white looks really good. Although part of me wishes they made the F5’s for tundras but I’m still happy with the Ray10’s

Agreed. I think Stealth Custom Series makes the best wheel for off-roading on the market. I think that I am going to try the Steel-it product on my sliders and bumper.
BTW- I have never owned a Toyota product. This Tundra just blows me away. Comfort, power and off-road capability are all 1st class. I am heading to Belgrade for a May 29th install. It’s gonna be a long three weeks wait!

@WrinkledPants Agreed. And that’s awesome you have an install date coming up. Although I think those last couple weeks were the hardest to wait right before going to get it lol. I’ll be out in August to get my hinges replaced so I’m excited to see the new shop and all. Enjoy the trip!

Here’s a pic I took of my truck last night…

Can’t wait for mine to start looking more like yours!!!

Also got in the VRNCLR bedding attic that he makes for the GFC. Although it may seem pricey, it certainly is the nicest fitting storage system for the roof of inside the camper. I was never happy with cargo nets I had since they would always sag. This is an exact fit and will allow for some good storage for bedding items.

Show us how it looks with your bedding in there! I hated the sagginess of the nets too.

Really nice build! Love that bumper with the push bar addition. Great add!

Here you go @mode7 . Not much sag at all, at least not to me when compared to cargo nets I used to have. This is with 3 Klymit pillows and a Klymit versa blanket up there.

Been off of here for a while. Mainly planning and prepping for a long family vacation we’re currently on. Drove from WV to MT to get my hinges replaced. Chris was great and being able to hang out while they do the swap was fun and informing. I stayed at a few good camp spots on the way and near Bozeman.

If you’re looking for a good camp spot and hike while you’re around Bozeman, I recommend staying up at Fairly Lake and hiking Sacajawea Peak. Fairy Lake is also worth checking out just below the campground.
