Does anyone know when the Turbo Nap will ship? I purchased it via the day 1 upgrade drop. The website shows a lead time of 5 weeks, but its been more than that already and I haven’t heard anything.
I tried teaching out to GFC 2 weeks or so ago, and have not heard anything back. @GFC
Yup, mine’s going to get it’s first use this weekend on my way out to Colorado. Wish the headliner showed up already since it’s going to be colder up in the mountains…
Let us know your thoughts on comfort. After trying mine out, I’m going to need an additional foam pad on top of the turbo nap mattress. I’m right around 185lbs and transitioning to and from any sleeping position has my pressure points pushing right down to the hard base. I mean, I’m a 37 year old who’s been beating their body up on everything with two wheels, but I would have expected a bit more support and comfort.
The original with an added 1" foam worked all right for me but because I sleep on my side/stomach it was a little too firm some nights. I’ll let y’all know what I think of the Turbonap but in laying down on it just for a few minutes after installing it I think it’s more comfortable for me. We’ll see how it treats me Friday night.
TurboNap will be a much better option for you. It’s more comfortable, and will last much longer than other foam options. Under large sleepers, Hests start breaking down after about a year.
I’m 6’2", 200 lbs at 15 percent, and have plenty of scars and titanium to show for my 43 years of bad decisions. I have a set of the polartec limited run sheets on top of my TurboNap, and think that setup is actually more comfortable than my Exped MegaMat, Helinox cot, etc.
Headed back up to elk camp for the weekend tonight and since the weather’s so freakishly nice, I plan to sleep in my GFC instead of the heated wall tent on a deck I spent all last weekend building, just because I’ll sleep better in the camper.
My very fancy wife is also entirely happy with TurboNap. We both got great sleep on it during a three month trip through Baja and back earlier this year. That certainly wasn’t possible on the old mattress.
Same. Ordered day one immediately after it went live. GFC finally responded to my Email and said they can’t provide a ETA as the end product is “drop-shipped” from another company. Support said they are hoping it’s shipped in the next four weeks.
Thats disappointing to hear… Their website still says “5 weeks or less to your door” if you purchase it separately. Its been over 9 weeks since I ordered and haven’t heard a word. Emailed support about 2-3 weeks ago, also crickets.
Hey there, this is Matt from customer service at GFC. We are currently experiencing some longer than expected lead times on our accessory rollout. This including the TurboNap mattress systems. We have now moved to a drop ship service from the actual foam manufacturer to improve the quality of the product and speed up the delivery dates. Rest assured you will be receiving your order as soon as products become available. If you have any questions or concerns about your order please reach out to support@gfcengineering.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Thank you all so much for your patience as we navigate solutions to deliver our products to our customers. Cheers!
I have an exped megamat so this is good to hear that you think it’s more comfortable. I’ve been very reluctant to purchase because it’s so damn expensive. The materials used in this thing cannot be proprietary? I have tried all sorts of different memory foam with no success on comfort. Has anyone cracked the code on where to get the foam they are putting in these and we can make them ourselves for hundreds of dollars less maybe?
Sleeping on the new TurboNap almost felt just a little too soft. Maybe I had gotten used to the old stiffer foam with 1" of softer foam on top. The material of the wrapping is nicer than the old bedding and I think I’ll get used to the new softer feel and sleep pretty content on it. My 2 cents.
