Windows or no windows?

@Dempster333 with all of the stories about the back windows popping out fairly easy, I would go no windows and a the rear view camera. Part of my reason for the GFC was securing my bed and piece of mind. A window defeats that in my opinion. I did not get windows and never regretted it. I never even got the rear view camera and just got used to it. On my work truck I have a standard canopy with windows and can’t see literally anything through them anyway.

Living in Seattle and without a garage, I went with no windows and use a Wolfbox camera. The Wolfbox works great in the daytime (I have it mounted on my swingout bike rack so I have a clear view) but the quality is only so-so at night (ghosting, headlight glare etc). I have the 930 with the older camera though - planning to upgrade to the newer camera to see if that helps.

I was already leaning this way but I think I am finally convinced. Security and peace of mind is important and I don’t want to have to continually cover the back window when I park. I had not heard about issues with the window popping out…

Where do we find some of these stories? I was searching the forum but couldn’t find any evidence. Did you hear about this on a Facebook group? Please share

I ordered my GFC without windows. My decision was based on experience with the shell on my old truck, which had windows all around. The window behind the cab was often blocked by cargo, dirty, and hard to clean. The hatch window and side windows were a weak point and I always wished they weren’t there. I’m comfortable using the side mirrors when backing up and it’s $800 for the GFC front and rear windows. It amounts to personal preference.

Agreed but I think the windows are $400 for both. $200 each.

Has anyone who opted for windows ever played around with mounting a security mesh?

Guys have had there rigs broken into multiple times by people pushing the windows in. I’ve only read about it on the forum.

Okay I thought you meant they were just popping out on their own.

There was actually someone here who reported that occurring .

iirc the window shattered and they replaced it with plexiglass

You are saying someone reported their rear window just falling out or popping out?
I reported years ago that my rear wimdow broke while driving with rear hatch open. It slammed into my kayak and I replaced it with Lexan. It did not just pop out though
