Awesome, thanks for uploading that and letting me know you’re experience. Guess ill have to give Josh more of my money.
My only input is to not over tighten the bolts. They can push out/ crack the cover (seen on the bottom right of my photo). Noticed before it cracked so the seal is still good. Just have to be more careful when I’m putting it on.
Hey @Wild_Mitten Do you need replacement? Let me know if you do, I’d be happy to send one out.
It’s all good, Josh. I just got a little overzealous with the hex key. Thanks for offering!
So thanks to this thread, I realized I’m an idiot. I had installed the drip rails on the lowest track and not the center one. They were sticking way out. Now they’re fixed:
The 10Rack is back and fully redesigned!
Anodized billet aluminum rack feet designed for use with 10 Series 1x2 80/20 extrusions. Can be mounted in either GFC track for a low-profile setup or positioned higher to accommodate industry-standard attachments. Securely fastened with T-nuts to the bottom of the extrusion for enhanced strength and stability. Each set includes two feet and all necessary hardware. (1x2 10 Series extrusions not included.). Preorder pricing saves you $25 per set.
Are these for creating roof bars? Got a link for ordering?
Yes you can use generic 1x2 10 series 8020 to create a roof rack. Ends up being about the same a the Beef Bars, but you get a more useful rack.
…available in Black anytime soon?
I was on the fence with clear or black anodizing. If people want black I could for sure do a run if them.
FYI, I don’t have a good distributor of extruded aluminum where I live, but after looking at almost every online source I could find, I ended up buying 1x2 10 series 8020 from Automation Direct. Prices were a few cents per inch more than 8020.net, but they offer free 2-day shipping on orders more than $49.
I ordered enough to build 4 bars and they came as promised, well packed and perfectly cut to size (free as well).
Also, @jedgar’s stuff is always premium materials, finish, and are really well designed. Even though I’ve got my bars built already, I’d be really tempted to grab these since they seem to square up to the 8020, vs the plates others have used.
Hi @jedgar For the new 10rack, should the bar lengths be cut to 53.75” to match Standard Beef Bars? Just ordered 3 sets. Thanks in advance.
Thanks @dmg5000 ! Having them perfectly match the profile of the extrusion was one of the design goals. It matches perfectly.
@626taco Thanks for the order! They should be the same as the beef bars but I will measure today to confirm! Also, would your prefer the clear anodize or black?
TY @jedgar I’ve been eagerly waiting for the return of the 10rack! I prefer the clear. Also I think it may ship sooner.
Yeah, now I’m hating the plates I used, lol. They’re thinner, require tapping on the inner sides (which I still need to do for this one), are raw/unfinished, and don’t fit like yours.
And, the inset bolts on yours are a really nice touch.
Thanks! I also didn’t want to rely on just the threaded bolts into the end of the extrusion for strength. The notched in plate supporting the bottom seemed like a better way to go.
I just test fit @626taco and the correct measurement is 53 1/8" for the standard camper and 59 1/8 for an XL. Also, got some shots of it in both the lower and upper track.
