Production Timeline Records

Nice that’s good to hear! Direct quote from the email I received on June 4th says “We are running behind schedule due to material shortages.”

Ordering something vs. actually receiving it are two different things. Almost everyone on this forum has experienced that haha.

I have been told similar in the last few days…

I placed a deposit in December with an expectation of July build. I changed trucks in February and was told early April that I had a build expectation in June and should receive my starter kit 6 to 8 weeks prior. I emailed June 2nd to inquire what a reasonable expectation would be for a starter kit and build. Below is the response from GFC support…

“We have been running behind on our original timelines. We have struggled getting the materials needed to make campers from our vendors. As of late, it has been difficult to source the floor/roof material for the tent section of our campers. So it possible that your start date is pushed back until later in the summer. We will reach out to confirm your shipping address prior to mailing your welcome kit.”

I have followed up to better understand their wording of possibly late summer. I haven’t received a response on that email. Build 1782

Yeah that’s pretty similar to the email I received. I totally understand the delays and I’m not mad about that or anything. I was expecting a 2-3 month delay but I think it’s reasonable to expect later than that for my build #1669 1st gen Tacoma. If I have it by summer 2022 I’ll be happy haha.

#1558, scheduled install for July 2nd at 11:40 am. Finally something that went right.

Here’s another timeline:
1/18/21 purchased spot #1536 from the GFC board
4/15/21 got email requesting details about truck model (online form)
5/6/21 received welcome kit
5/11/21 completed options and paid final invoice
6/3/21 received phone call to schedule as early as 7/2/21

Very excited for our camper! Some notes in case it’s useful… truck is Ford 150 Raptor short bed (XL camper). The person I purchased my spot from had put his deposit in 2020, so I’ve been grandfathered with the 2020 pricing (I called to confirm before purchasing the spot, and was charged appropriately). I’m told installs are Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon only.

Why no brake light? It looks fantastic on the JT as an added light. I love mine. Did they actually take it out for you?

I picked up my camper for my JT last week and they said they aren’t doing brake lights on them because the tailgate already has one.

Another build update:

Bought spot #1725 last week and set options for 2nd gen Tacoma double cab short bed.
Update this morning said expect invoice in a week or two, then 4-6 weeks after that until scheduling call, then about a month between scheduling call and install. So this puts me at ~12 weeks total after options set to install, if all goes well.

GFC was great with the install today, and the camper is even better than I was imagining. Testing it out now.

Hmm. That’s strange I have the same Ram with a build number almost 200 below you and haven’t even been confirmed for an install or ship date.

What cargo size is your Ram. If it is a 6’4” cargo, it is in production. If it is a 5’7” cargo size it will soon go into production. Send GFC a confirmation email. They recently sent out an email explaining the sequence of production release. I hope this helps.
