Reached out to someone on IG. Assuming this was one of the most recent shipping notification the order number was 6257 placed 8/2020.
I got a shipment notification this past Monday, 5/10. Old Dominion followed up with a call letting me know that it would be delivered this coming Monday. Just got the ladder and mattress today.
Yes, I get it, customer is always right. Spent tons of money on a pre-order product and expect regular updates and precision delivery dates.
Lucky you as I think your delivery is just around the corner. I’ve got a couple more months to wait. I must be too easy of a customer, because that’s really all the information and communication I need. I did also reach out on a couple technical things and they answered within 24hrs. Should I not be satisfied?
Nevermind that big established companies on production products can’t deliver - $100k+ Airstream RVs, video cards… have you looked into new car deliveries lately? Think if I keep calling their customer service, they’ll build my stuff quicker?
First, I don’t even care about the wait. Im more than understanding that this last year + has screwed up a lot of things for a lot of people. I understand that there are a lot worse problems in life than this. I would gladly wait far longer and not have problem but GFC can’t seem to do the most basic thing and just post a small update once a month. If they did this there would be far less people calling them to bug them and in return I bet they could devote more time and energy to speed up production. A small amount of effort can go along way. Also, if you follow GFC on instagram they have zero problem posting their more expensive platform camper over and over. If they have time to do this then they can write an update. Again it’s at most a 20 minute task once a month.
yea! got my ship notice an hour ago. 1 week later than the target date. good stuff in my book!. hang in there those waiting!
I think the majority of complaints could be resolved with a self-service hub that gives projections based off of current lead times, allows you to see open install slots and schedule, and perhaps even transfer the spot to a new person. I’m sure someone in GFC is tracking lead times to ensure materials are ordered. Could be as simple as just giving a month as an estimated completed date.
This would free up a large amount of the customer service team to address more labor intensive requests.
Hi There: build 59XX. Shipping expected week of 4/26 per most recent communication. Shipping notice came 5/10. Shipped Old Dominion Freight to Arizona and arrived 5/14. Ladder and mattress came UPS on the same day. Mattress is top notch and tent looks durable and is easy to use. As promised, it did not impact vehicle handling. Look to YouTube for install and ladder instructions. Note - install hardware inside tent in pocket.
Has anyone worked out an anti-theft security system? There’s a new post on the FB threat about someone having almost lost his tent to thieves. I’m planning on leaving my Superlite on all the time and using it a lot. I’d like it to be there when I get back from shopping somewhere.
So those that have received their SuperLites, how did the actual timing stack up against the original quoted delivery?
When I bought ours, I was told early August.
I emailed today and this was the response:
“Thanks for reaching out about the status of your Superlite order. As you know this is a new product for us and not without it’s challenges. Global supply chain issues have caused multiple delays. Superlite orders are divided into batches and as soon as we have all materials to produce your batch, we will be able to provide you with a more exact timeline. We understand that a fluid timeline might not work for everyone. If you decide you’d like to go in another direction, let us know and we will provide a full refund.”
have to ask… those who have received theres how did the trucking process go? did Old Dominion call before to set up a delivery time?in general how did you go about the check procedure? does it come in a carboard/foamed box or strapped to a wood pallet? did you just check for outside damage or did you open it before the driver left? just curious. also what size truck should i expect.box truck? 18 wheeler? just wanna be ready. thanks! for any insight on the delivery process.
It’s going to vary depending on where you are, every hub is going to operate slightly differently. I can’t provide input from a Superlite perspective, but my Platform RTT came OD freight as well.
I received a call the day before asking to confirm a window for delivery that I would be available. They also said I could request the driver call when they were 30 minutes away. It was supposed to come in a cardboard box strapped to a pallet, but when it arrived it was only in a cardboard box and no pallet. I knew they had the paper pyramids so you could tell if it had been stacked so I asked about it and the driver said he removed it from the pallet at the hub that morning since no one ever wants it. Could have been BS bc someone stacked on it (though if it had been I couldn’t tell) or he was just being nice.
He told me I could open it and inspect which I did while he was there; he was actually really interested in seeing it as well. You’re only checking for shipping damage, just around the outside of the tent, no need to open it up–my box was pretty clean on the outside and not dented or ripped so I only did a quick look over around the edges and the top and bottom to make sure nothing had somehow poked through. He came in a decent sized box truck, like a large U-Haul sized truck. Even looking it over he was gone in less than 10 minutes
thank you for the info! i was thinking an 18 wheeler rolling down my block and all the neighbors watching out there windows like gladys crabbits… at only 80 lbs. i was thing to get it in my basement to open it up and play around with it or move the furniture around and put it in the living room so the wife can finally see what a rooftop tent is.yup thats the plan… lol
I will say they were on time and called ahead and the box was very well packed but…When the driver called he said I hope you can help me get it off the truck…I said sure, Easy to get off the truck with 2 people as not that heavy. I asked what he would have done if delivering to an old lady and he said he would charge her $200 for using the hydraulic ramp…I hope he was kidding but did not seem like it. inspection takes about 2 minutes, really easy
I ordered mine in November- got the same response as you did last week.
so im wondering about the weight and being able to move it by myself. the transport document says 140lbs. thats alot of packing material lol… im hoping i can get the Superlite on a dolly or movin cart to get it from my driveway up to the house. if i strip off the packing material and get it closer to the 80lbs. im thinking i can move it along by myself.
So what was your original delivery month when you bought it in November?
I also ordered mine in November. Order number low 7000s. Originally they said late April, then after the manufacturing update in early March, they said late May. I checked again earlier this month, and they said it was still on track for late May. I’m doubting it. Anyone have a recently delivered tent order number?
im in the mid 6000-s it was shipped on monday and is now at my home state N.J. on the east coast as of this morning. my predicted delivery date is the 25th so im thinking monday i will get a call. i ordered first week of September so to hear November orders are movin is great considering those orders are 2 months after my order date. they must be working 24-7.
Jelly of you <10K order numbers… I’m on the the high 10k order#, original expect month is October.
Thanks for the info everyone. We ordered in Feb so fingers crossed they can deliver in August.
I do wonder how much the order #’s matter as to actual volume as you get one for everything you order from them - small parts etc.
Miss the old leaderboard from the early GFC V1 days…
