Picked up the GFC for our Chevy Colorado on July 6th. Had some time to install a few accessories over the weekend.
Just saw your post. How did you attach the to the top?
How did you reinforce the Polly Panel?
2 years later and it’s still looking good. So much lighter and more durable than glass. I’m extremely rough with my truck and camper so I did put one small scratch but visibility is great.

Good old market place find. Had to adjust the legs and cut them to length but for $40 who’s complaining. I had my eyes set on the bam boards or pack rack for a quick take down set up but this will do. I plan to either, wrap it or bedline it at some point in the summer.
Went around the camper today and tightened up a bunch of hardware I was surprised to see had come loose.
In the process I was also surprised to see that the support blocks are just bolted directly into the tubing, definitely not much thread engagement there, they feel very easy to strip out in that relatively soft aluminum.
Finally replaced my original panel latches. My original latches started going bad after my second camping trip. Ive spent way too much time the last 2 years
cursing these latches trying to lock/unlock and pry open every single time.
What did you replace them with? Did you purchase the upgraded ones from GFC?
I replaced the originals with the C5 lock. I bought them about a year ago i just finally gor around to installing them. Its a huge upgrade for me
I think the new GFC lock is different than the C5 lock. I havent seen the new GFC locks in person yet
Interesting. Did you need to expand the cutout in your panels to accomodate the C5’s? They appear larger than the C2’s GFC originals.
Yes you definitely do need to make the opening a little bigger. Thats why i put it off but it really wasnt that bad
There are several post on the forum of people switching to the C5 lock
Do you have any more details or images of this? This is awesome.
There is not much more to show. The two of the 24x24 inserts were replaced with one 24x36 and one 24x12. Plus we replaced the the old thin gfc pads with thick Sea to Summit Comfort Deluxe pads.
The setup is working well for us and we are still nimble and thin enough to fit through the 24x12 portal. But I will have to diet after this xmas to fit again in the spring.
I bought it. I’ve been looking for a GFC for a while and finally found one locally. I don’t see many on Colorados come up for sale and they’re never close. The seller even delivered it to me! My truck is a 2020 Colorado Z71 that I’ve been building up since I got it in April of 2020. The red Bison is the seller’s truck
And then onto my truck
I cannot wait to get out and camp in this thing!
Congrats man! Fellow z71 long bed owner here!
Congrats man. '22 Z71 with the Babymax here. Not sure what the build date of your camper is, but if it doesn’t have the Turbo Nap in it that would be my first recommended mod. It sounds like they may be on a bit of a backorder status right now, but I wouldn’t hesitate to get in line.
Thanks, I don’t know the build date but it does not have the Turbo Nap in it. However, the previous owner put 1" memory foam on top of the cushions and it’s really comfortable. I’m going to take it out locally next weekend just to give it a test run and we’ll see how it goes. I’ve also heard the Hest mattress is awesome and I love their pillows. Lots of little things on their way to me.
