In the process I was also surprised to see that the support blocks are just bolted directly into the tubing, definitely not much thread engagement there, they feel very easy to strip out in that relatively soft aluminum.
Finally replaced my original panel latches. My original latches started going bad after my second camping trip. Ive spent way too much time the last 2 years
I replaced the originals with the C5 lock. I bought them about a year ago i just finally gor around to installing them. Its a huge upgrade for me
I think the new GFC lock is different than the C5 lock. I havent seen the new GFC locks in person yet
Yes you definitely do need to make the opening a little bigger. Thats why i put it off but it really wasnt that bad
There are several post on the forum of people switching to the C5 lock
There is not much more to show. The two of the 24x24 inserts were replaced with one 24x36 and one 24x12. Plus we replaced the the old thin gfc pads with thick Sea to Summit Comfort Deluxe pads.
The setup is working well for us and we are still nimble and thin enough to fit through the 24x12 portal. But I will have to diet after this xmas to fit again in the spring.
I bought it. I’ve been looking for a GFC for a while and finally found one locally. I don’t see many on Colorados come up for sale and they’re never close. The seller even delivered it to me! My truck is a 2020 Colorado Z71 that I’ve been building up since I got it in April of 2020. The red Bison is the seller’s truck
Congrats man. '22 Z71 with the Babymax here. Not sure what the build date of your camper is, but if it doesn’t have the Turbo Nap in it that would be my first recommended mod. It sounds like they may be on a bit of a backorder status right now, but I wouldn’t hesitate to get in line.
Thanks, I don’t know the build date but it does not have the Turbo Nap in it. However, the previous owner put 1" memory foam on top of the cushions and it’s really comfortable. I’m going to take it out locally next weekend just to give it a test run and we’ll see how it goes. I’ve also heard the Hest mattress is awesome and I love their pillows. Lots of little things on their way to me.
Taking the V2 Pro camper out on its maiden voyage this week. Heavily inspired by Arkansas Offroad. So much cleaner than my old mid height rack and RTT setup. It’s loaded and ready to go with no need for storage boxes.
Had to drill four new holes in Underland Offroad molle panel to fit Pro model (not hard).
Found the decked setup for $400 on Facebook, which made me feel not bad about cutting it up. I built rails into the cut out section so I can add a platform to it for the kids to sleep downstairs when the whole family comes (still youngsters).
Decided on Bluetti DC to DC charger instead of solar as it can charge my Anker 1kWh battery (located at rear underneath Decked) in 2 hours if it was completely empty.
Installed a Wolfbox G900 Pro. Tapped into my rear view mirror harness to run the hardwire kit, made for a clean install. I bought the Wolfbox OEM bracket kit so I removed my mirror and tucked away the cables all nice under the headliner.
I also had to replace my third brake light (housing faded and cracked at the screws) so I did that and made a notch in the wire access hole using a dremel to fit the rear camera cable. It’s clean but I’m going to add some butyl tape to push out the light a little bit for the camera cable and seal it up good. Waiting on a Shittco camera mount to make it even better.
