What have you done to your GFC this week

I got my truck in the holiday spirit:

What is the watt hour rating of your Goal Zero?

1516 wh according to their website

We did a post a while ago about our whole solar / power setup. I’ll be doing another one soon, specifically related to these upgrades.

added a couple of sloppy goods essential pocket bags to the rear stabilizing bars. Pretty sweet for throwing keys or wallet into when you get to camp so you don’t drunkingly lose them out your pocket

Here is my little project

Got the frame built out and mounted the fridge slide

Just put some plywood on for now. It may end up being bamboo or just carpet. Not sure yet.

I did a shelf for the gz 1509x

I made some sliding doors out of some clear sheets of lexan I found on OfferUp. I just painted the rear black

Added some panels on the ends for a diy finished look.

Pro tip…… the sliding door track for the 8020 can be ordered in large sticks directly to Granger. You can just pick it up and save on the crazy shipping cost.

Wow, that looks great!! Nice work

Thanks. It was a lot of work, but I preplanned nothing lol

Nice work! Looks fantastic! We have been considering redoing our build with 80/20 as well, hopefully to drop some weight out of the bed.

I’ve wanted to do 80/20 since I bought the GFC but was always intimidated by the planning and measuring and pre/building portion of it.

I’ve done the Grainger pickup a couple times and it works great if you have one nearby.

But, I’ve also ordered from AutomationDirect as they offer free 2-day shipping, even on larger items. They don’t have a huge selection, but do carry the most used components/series sizes.

Honestly Im not super great at it. This was my 1st build. Meassure twice cut once and all that. I do wish I used the tap and drill connectors instead of the 90s. At least on the corners that show. Its not that hard. Go for it.

You totally should. If I didn’t need to use my truck as a truck as often as I do I would totally build my truck out.

Did you source your panels from 8020?

No, I found some used plexi on offerup and cut it myself

Looks super clean. The plexi is a great idea. Might borrow that idea.

Not exactly GFC related although power does run from this to the GFC…I got frustrated with the intermittent bluetooth on the sPod BantamX and decided to try the Garmin Powerswitch. I installed a dual Powerswitch setup with a custom 3D printed cover to make things cleaner.
